Thanksgiving and prayer request

My brother-in-law had a colonoscopy last week. Have just received this email from my sister.

Russ went back to Dr today - he has colon cancer. Doctor said it was only in one of the polyps and he believes they got it all out - has to have another procedure in December to check. Doctor said he was really very lucky as it is a most aggressive cancer with no symptoms.

Prayers indeed for your brother-in-law, sister, and yourself in this frightening hour.

... and let's not forget the importance of everyone getting regular check-ups. Bowel/colon cancer is now one of the leading causes of death in the western world, and can usually be cured if detected early, as this was. Sure it's a gross and embarrassing thing to discuss, but early diagnosis really does save lives.
